Finance

The resources used for running the central activities of St Luke's church were £156,329. This included running costs, hall, fees and charities.

The incoming resources were £152,550. This included regular giving, special giving, charities, rent & fees.

The giving of the congregation from the church was £118,880 compared to last year's amount of £125,000. About £14,000 of last year's income resulted from receiving two years tax rebate that year after a change in Government Policy.

The PCC encourage every member of St Luke's Church to give 5% of their income after tax to the church and 5% to other charities.

The Fabric of the Church and the Hall

We are pleased to report that the ornaments and goods of the Church have been checked and are in good order. The Terrier has also been checked and found to be correct.

During the year 2001 the Maintenance Team continued their good work. Most of their time is spent cleaning the inside of the church and maintaining the graveyard and the rest of the grounds.

Quinquennial Inspection
The quinquennial inspection of the Church was carried out in 2001. The PCC was not satisfied with the report and the inspectors agreed to revise their report. The revised report was received in January 2002 and the PCC has started to arrange for the necessary work to be carried out.

Church Grounds
The worst parts of the drive have been retarmacked.

Church Exterior
The first stage of repointing the external Church walls (part of the north transept) was started in 2001 and completed in early 2002.

Church Hall
Replacement of windows and external decoration of the Hall began in 2001 and will continue in 2002.
