The PCC also has maintenance responsibility for the Church, Church Hall and Parish Centre at 71 Liverpool Road, Crosby. The PCC is a Charity exempted from registration with the charity commission. Membership
Bank - Barclays Bank PLC, Liverpool North, Great Crosby. Committees The PCC works closely with the Shared Ministry Team, the Standing Committee & the Premises Committee. The Standing Committee meets as required between PCC meetings to transact business guided by the PCC. Church Attendance There are 309 parishioners on the church Electoral Roll 2002, 147 of whom are not resident within the Parish. There were 58 deletions from inside the parish and 48 deletions outside the parish since last year. The average Sunday attendances were as follows:
The average Sunday attendance for all services for 2002 was 204, compared to 226 in 2001. Review of the year Since the last Annual Parochial Church Council Meeting the PCC has held six meetings. There was an average attendance of 2 Clergy and 16 Lay Members at each meeting. This year matters discussed have included:
Finance The total resources used for running all the activities of St Luke's church were £187,975. The total incoming resources were £200,806. The giving of the congregation was £136,992. A total of £39,468 was given away to other charities. The PCC encourage every member of St Luke's Church to give 5% of their income after tax to the church and 5% to other charities. The Fabric of the Church and the Hall We are pleased to report that the ornaments and goods of the church have been checked and are in good order. The Terrier has also been checked and found to be correct. During the year 2002 the Maintenance Team continued their good work. Most of their time is spent cleaning the inside of the church and maintaining the graveyard and the rest of the grounds. Quinquennial Inspection - Following receipt of the revised quinquennial inspection report in January 2002, the PCC drew up a list of necessary work. Because the necessary faculty had not been received before the end of the year little of this work was carried out in 2002, but it is intended that all the work in the main body of the church, including redecoration, will be completed in time for the flower festival in October 2003. Church Grounds - An area of ground adjacent to the Hall has been leased to the Crossroads trustees for the construction of their new Centre. An old garage on this site, used for storage, was demolished Church Exterior - The second stage of repointing the external Church walls (part of the south wall) was completed in 2003. Church Hall - Replacement of windows and external decoration of the Hall continued in 2002. A start was made on re-arranging the storage space inside the Hall (this was completed in early 2003). |
