THE PARISH OF ST LUKE GREAT CROSBY

Minutes of a Meeting of Parishioners
held in St Luke's Church Hall, on 25 April 2007
for the purpose of electing Churchwardens

1. The meeting opened in prayer.

2. Notice Convening the Meeting

After opening the meeting the Chairman, Rev Peter Spiers, informed those present that the notice convening the meeting had been on view in Church and was available for inspection.

3. Minutes

The Minutes of the 2006 meeting previously circulated to all those on the Electoral Roll were taken as read. It was proposed by June Barnard seconded by Lester Davey, and unanimously agreed that the Minutes be accepted and signed.

4. Election of Churchwardens

The Chairman announced that both Gordon Lawrence and Ann Somers were eligible and willing to stand for re-election as Church Wardens. As there were no other nominations for the position both Gordon and Ann were duly elected.

5. Vote of Thanks

Gordon Lawrence gave a vote of thanks to all who had contributed to the life of the church in the last year and supported and assisted the Churchwardens. In particular he paid tribute to the Maintenance Team, without whom we would not get the work done so quickly and whose service has saved the church a lot of money, and Eric Linford, the Treasurer for all his hard work in connection with the accounts. Gordon also expressed his thanks to Ann for all her support and hard work as Church Warden.

Ann Somers also thanked the Sidespeople for their help and support over the past year and also all the Group Leaders, the Ladies who keep the church and furnishings so beautifully clean, the Flower Ladies and June Barnard for keeping the Church Linen so nice. Ann also expressed thanks, on behalf of all at St Luke's, to Pete and Annie for all their hard work, not just on Sundays, but for all they do behind the scenes, and in connection with In Another Place and TAG.
