Tales in Another Place

John - I agreed to act as Jesus saying "Jesus has made such a difference to my life I want to direct people to him … a bit like John the Baptist did". Jesus was a tough guy and prepared to challenge injustice wherever he saw it.

Scott - Tales in Another Place, like Christmas and Easter in Another Place, has allowed me to explore my own faith and question myself on what I want out of life. I have met new people, gained new skills and enjoyed every minute of this great experience.

Hannah - The thing I love about Tales In Another Place is how well and creatively the parables of Jesus have been updated to fit into the 21st century. With the addition of the gospel choir and dance shows, I think it's a brilliant way of involving the community. I've loved singing and acting in TIAP, it's different from singing or acting in a show because its important that people realise these stories have a deeper meaning.

Diane - I wanted to be part of TIAP because I enjoy reading the parables of Jesus. The one I find most helpful is the rich man's banquet (Beckhams' banquet). It reminds me that I don't have to be rich, clever or famous for God to love me and invite me to be with him. I hope people will find at least one of the parables acquires special meaning as we perform them.

Martin - With very little religious beliefs, I was dragged along to Christmas in Another Place by a friend. I used to think that church goers were 'The God Squad' or 'Bible Bashers', but have discovered that they are just ordinary folk. I hope that like me, these stories that Jesus told will stir a desire for people to find out more about Jesus' life and message. Like me, you might be surprised at what you find.

Angela - My faith has been strengthened and renewed through my involvement with Christmas, Easter and now Tales in Another Place. It has brought people together from so many churches and the community. Anthony Gormley's statues on the beach have inspired so much creativity. I have spent many hours walking amongst them and felt very close to God there. TIAP reminds us how much God loves us and wants us to share that love with others.
