| Homegroup Leaders' Notes for 2 January 2005 | |
| Aim | To learn about the way that Jesus confronts the darkness of this world. |
| Welcome | Share about what you felt was the highlight for you of 2004 and what you feel your biggest challenge will be in 2005. |
| Worship | Read John chapter 1:1-18 together. Then read verse 16 again: 'Out of the fullness of his grace he has blessed us all, giving us one blessing after another.' Thank God for one way in which he has blessed you. |

A tape of Bishop David's talk is available. 1 . Jesus confounded the darkness on the cross. How did Jesus do this (Colossians 1:19-20). Was it important that he had the full nature of God? 2. Jesus was fully human he felt like we feel and was tempted. Do we feel that if we were to see and hear Jesus personally we would have readily accepted him or would we still have had doubts about him? 3. Jesus longs for us to to be in relationship with him. We can know his power because if we choose to be in relationship with him we become his children. In what ways can we know this power? 4. How important is it to pray and be part of the Christian community here in Crosby? 5. Can we know God's power through the Word of God and through the bread and wine at communion? Does it really matter that we attend church regularly and in what ways can being in a homegroup help our spiritual life? 6. How is God's glory seen in our lives? God gives us the power to confront the darkness and when we are in Christ we walk in his light. |
| Witness | Pray for your relationships with those around you and ask for God's help for our church during 2005. Pray that God's love will fill you as you confront the darkness. |
