| Homegroup Leaders' Notes for 20 February 2005 | |
| Aim | To understand more fully what it means to be a real Christian. |
| Welcome | Where were you first told about where babies came from? How old were you when you learned the real story? |
| Worship | Read Psalm 27:1-6. Thank God for his salvation and for taking away our fear. Sing a praise song such as "I am a new creation no more in condemnation here in the grace of God I stand". (Mission Praise 254) |
| Word |
Read John 3:1-17 1. Do you tell people that you are a born again Christian? If not why not? 2. Being born again has been compared to somebody taking over your bankrupt shop, paying off your debts and installing you as manager. How do you feel about this description of new life in Christ and does it help you to understand what Jesus meant? 3. What does Jesus claim about himself in verses 13-15? 4. Can you remember a time when you personally decided you were going to follow Jesus even though you may have been brought up as a Christian and were expected to go to church? 5. Even though we are born again of the Holy Spirit can we stop listening to what he wants to teach us? (John 16:14). What is the best way to make sure we continue to grow? 6. Why is it important to know that we have eternal life and to know we are going to heaven? |
| Witness | Pray that God will lead you to those who are seeking for the answer to true life and happiness. Think again about using the prayer cards and praying regularly for those on our hearts. |
