St Luke's Church, Great Crosby

Homegroup Leaders' Notes for 17 April 2005

Aim To examine our responsibilities as members of our church
Welcome Describe yourself in four words.
Worship Read Psalm 23 together or sing "The Lord's my Shepherd" (Mission Praise 660). Thank God for his protection, then thank God for his provision. Leave some time for anybody who has anything specific to thank God for to do so.
Word

Read Acts 2:42-47 together.

What do we expect of those who care for us as pastor or shepherd of the congregation? Do we expect too much. Or do we sometimes feel we are ignored? What does it mean to you to be part of the Christian community even though you may not be able to attend as regularly as you would like?

The early disciples met constantly for four things

1 To hear the apostles teach.
Do we put enough effort into listening and learning?

2 To share the common life.
To them it meant sharing possessions. Do we try to share our possessions in the best way we can or is it not so appropriate in the present day?

3 To break bread.
It was the core of their worship. Why do you think Holy Communion is so important?

4. To pray
Do we meet constantly to pray? If not why not?

Witness Pray for the outreach of our church into the community. Ask God to help us to be more sharing in every way.
