Persistence in Prayer
Welcome Share an experience you or your family have had of being woken up unexpectedly in the night. How did you feel?
Worship Spend a few moments in quietness then read together Isaiah 40 28-31. Thank God that he is always listening and ready to help.
Word

Read Luke 11:1-13.

1 How does prayer change what we have got to offer to others?

2 Why is it important that we feel a sense of urgency or need when we pray? Do we need to be desperate before we pray?

3 The man in the story had nothing when he knocked on the door. Why did Jesus say that we need to ask, seek and knock? Why does he not just give us things as soon as we mention it? What does the story tell us about the need for urgency or desperation?

4 Why does prayer affect our relationship with God?

5 What part does the Holy Spirit play in prayer, and why should we keep on praying? Do we believe in the power of prayer and have we had any encouraging answers lately?

Witness We pray each Monday, Tuesday, and Friday at 9:15 am for half an hour and all are welcome. Could we go maybe if we happen to be free, say at half term or some time because it is very encouraging. Pray now as a group that God will help you to pray regularly for those on your OIKOS list (Others I Know Or Spend time with).
