Cell Group Values - Study 4
D Doing Evangelism
Welcome If someone made a statue of you, what pose would be most appropriate? What inscription?
Worship

Spend a short time quietening yourselves. If possible get somebody to lead you in relaxing every part of your body.

Meditate for a few minutes in silence on the words

'For in him we live and move and have our being.'

Pray using some of the thoughts that God has put on your heart.

Word

Read Acts 17:16-31

1) How do you feel when you hear somebody preaching out loud in public? Do you feel guilty when you move away?

2) What is the message we have to share with those around us?
What does Paul say about God verse 24?
What does he say about Jesus verse 31?
What does God command all people to do verse 30?

3) Jesus told stories and asked questions, in other words he gained their interest and attention, then he listened to their responses to him. What should our story about ourselves include? (eg I have changed or I am part of a community of God's people etc.) What message do our lives tell about us?

4) How can we as a group be more attractive to other people then help them to open up so that we can listen to their story ? We all love to feel safe but what are the rewards for moving off safe ground into other areas?

Witness

To live with integrity is in some way to be an evangelist. Pray that your lives will speak of Jesus. Pray for wisdom in listening to others and boldness to speak of what Jesus has done for you. Ask yourselves as a group what you can do to reach out to others, remembering that most people come to faith slowly but mostly through contact with Christians.
