Parochial Church Council

Report from PCC meeting held on Wednesday 29 November 2006

Pete reported on the quinquennial inspection. The architect will meet with the wardens to go through it and meet the PCC in January.

The proposed role descriptions for the new Shared Ministry Team were agreed. The purpose of the new team would be communicated to the rest of the church during Lent 2007.

The PCC agreed the proposals from Steve Matthews for the Breathing Places project and thanked him very warmly for all his hard work on it.

The PCC received a financial report for the year so far and agreed further charitable giving as suggested by the World Mission Group. They also agreed to give £500 to Angels in Another Place, £100 for the Shepherd-Warlock memorial and £50 for the Christmas lights in Crosby village. They received the budget for 2007 and acknowledged all the hard work of Eric Linford. They also requested a report from the standing committee as to how the aim of giving 10% of income away could be achieved. They set rent charges for the coming year and approved the Giving in Grace annual review which will take place from Sunday 21 January 2007.

The PCC received reports on St Luke's Halsall from Ray Terry, St Michael's CE School from Pete Spiers , the Crosby/Blundellsands team from Linda McDowell, Sefton Deanery from Peter Owen and Churches Together in Great Crosby from Ray Terry.

Dates were agreed of meetings for 2007.
