December 2001 - The Children's Society

Working to help save the children here in Great Britain who are abused, raised in poverty, ill treated, neglected, unloved or have run away from home in a vain effort to escape to what they hope is a better life. They often fall into the hands of people who use and abuse them even more, lead them into crime, prostitution, drugs and all sorts of infamy.

There are thousands of children like this,
lost, unloved, discarded,
to become the human debris of our society.

Please Help

Help us to help them and their families. Take a box from the table at the back of Church, fill it with money, bind it in prayer, and return it to Church.

Suffer the little children to come unto me, hinder them not, for theirs is the Kingdom of Heaven.
(Matthew 19:1)

There was nowhere safe to play, so I had to stay indoors.

Lee is only ten. The only place for him and his friends to play was a derelict building site littered with broken bottles, rubbish and used syringes left by drug addicts.

Now there's a well equipped playground where children can play in safety and of which the community can be proud.

The Children's Society is working in deprived communities like this, helping to regenerate them with the active help and involvement of the children who live there.

The Children's Society is committed to giving children a genuine say in the decisions which affect their lives.
