Harvest Gift Day 2023

As we come up to Harvest Festival, we have thought and talked about what and who our giving needs to be to this year.  We will of course give to the Foodbank and are asking you to bring items of non-perishable food or basic toiletries (see list below). But we normally give beyond the Foodbank as well, so who needs us to support them this year?

There are always more needs than we can begin to meet, and after much consideration both Standing Committee/PCC and the World Mission Group have chosen to give to our own community for mission locally. We have worked out an estimate cost for the refurbishment of the Webster Room and the provision of hot water and good toilets in the hall.  So, more than just a harvest collection, we are making Harvest a Gift Day as well…

Be part of raising £15k in creating facilities that will help towards mission work in our local community for years to come.

Many of us give generously to church (and the bible talks about 10%, a tithe), but a Gift day giving is an ask separate from our normal weekly/monthly giving.  This is a special one-off for a special cause.  In this Gift Day we want to raise £15,000 to provide both our Community and Church groups, groups such as Rainbows, Brownies, Guides, NHS groups, The Way, parties and celebrations, Sewing and Crafty Ladies, Nifty Knitters and more, with good facilities, clean facilities and ones that they can enjoy meeting in.  Please help to be part of raising £15k and creating facilities that will help towards mission work in our local community for years to come.   Amanda

Foodbank items may include the following: Tinned goods (Veg, Potatoes, Tomatoes, Fruit, Rice Pudding) Jam, Cereals, Instant Coffee, Noodles/Pasta’n’sauce, Long life Juice/Squash, UHT milk (1 Litre), deodorants, shower gel.
