Growing Faith Adventure
Here at St Luke’s we are part of the Church of England ‘Growing Faith Adventure’, which is all about church, school and home working together so everyone knows they are loved by God 💚
We are delighted to announce that we are the first church in the Liverpool Diocese to receive a prestigious ‘Growing Faith Award’ which reflects all the lovely things we have done together over the past year! We were honoured to be presented with the award by Stuart Harrison the Diocesan Director of Education, we are so proud of our St Luke’s school & church family!
Message from Rev Amanda (St Luke's Church Vicar)
We are very proud and privileged to have St Luke’s Halsall C of E primary school in our church family.
We enjoy strong links with our school. A number of dedicated church members serve on the Governing Body, supporting Mr Miller and his staff in leading the school. Others volunteer in a wide variety of ways, whether hearing children read, accompanying classes on school visits or supporting them on special events in school, such as Sports Day or the PTA School fair.
Supporting the spiritual growth of the school is at the heart of all we do. A team of clergy and lay people lead Collective Worship each week. We also enjoy time in school supporting various aspects of the curriculum, a particular role of those who are Governors. I visit school every week with my dog Poppy, who is our much loved School Dog. Many school services and celebrations are held in church throughout the year to which all are welcome.
Last year, with the help of some enthusiastic members of our congregation, we have run a number of Experience prayer and reflection events in church for the whole school, the most recent being a re-run of ‘Experience Harvest’. This was opened up to parents and carers too. This was so successful that we are currently planning ‘Experience Christmas’ to take place this year.
We thank God for our school church family and look forward to welcoming all members of our school family into the heart of our church. You are very welcome to join us for the many services, groups, and events we enjoy at St Luke’s Great Crosby, especially for our family services, generally held on the 1st Sunday of the month at 10am – check out our website for more details.Last year, with the help of some enthusiastic members of our congregation, we ran interactive prayer and reflection sessions for ‘Experience Pentecost’. We feel very lucky to be part of the loving family of St Luke’s Church Crosby. We enjoy and value both the practical and spiritual support of so many church members.
Together our church, children, families, staff and governors worked together to create our vision statement below. We believe it reflects clearly all we hope to achieve for our boys and girls.

Vision Statement

At St. Luke’s Halsall we value each person and believe that there is something extraordinary and wondrous in everybody as unique creations of God.
We aspire to let the love of Jesus run through all we do and are, so shaping us as a family of God, which enables everyone to grow and flourish, spreading His love to all those we meet through our service to others, now and always.
This empowers each one of us to live out and be challenged by our mission of,
‘Inspiring lives, building futures together with Jesus’
The pupils create wall-hanging banners, as a gift to our church every year. This year they depict the Easter story – thank you to Y4 students.
