On the warmest ever sunny Sunday in November, we launched our Warm Welcome project, serving piping hot, freshly made pea and coriander soup from our kitchen in the Welcome Area. Perhaps we should have set up an ice-cream stall at the gate! It was a small beginning with three visitors, but from little acorns … We’re not actually looking for big oaks, just hoping to make a difference to those in our local area who may feel isolated or anxious about these hard times, fearing food and fuel poverty.
Thanks to funding from Sefton CVS, we offer a warm space with free soup, a roll, tea or coffee and biscuits and an opportunity to chat in a welcoming safe space. We are open Sunday afternoon between 2pm and 4pm from now until the end of March (excluding Christmas Day & New Year’s Day)
Please pray that we may follow Christ’s example and offer compassionate hospitality to each of our visitors. Thank you for your support – Maureen and Gillian
